I had the idea for “Meet Our Amazing Friend Night” over three years ago. But I knew we had to perfect the core Me So Far event before venturing into other formats. And it’s finally time.
As with most everything at Me So Far, we do our best to take an insight, truth or obstacle about dating today, turn it on its head and make it fun. So, what’s the thinking behind this latest event?
There’s always something magical about wedding toasts. Whether they’re hilarious or simply heartfelt, every guest leans in. But the key to a great wedding toast is the gem factor - the unveiling of a story or trait that the groom/bride would likely never announce themselves. It’s that rare occasion when the narrative is in the hands of someone who knows another so well, in a moment that begs for the non-cliche, set in a semi-private forum.

Last summer I ran into my friend PH. I hadn’t seen him in a while and he was recently out of a relationship. He looked great. He had attended a Me So Far event two years prior, and while it didn’t result in a relationship, he did remark on how much the experience opened him up to both being single AND being in a relationship. And from there a very important conversation ensued.

Most people have had a version of the following experience: At first you know her as ‘The Girl from Finance.’ Then she’s ‘The Girl Who Said That Smart Thing In The Meeting.’ Next, she’s ‘The Girl Who Said That Funny Thing in the Break Room.’ And before you know it, you look forward to meetings and you start hanging out in the break room more than usual. And while you know you like this person, you’re also a little surprised. You didn’t think you’d like a girl with dark brown hair who listens to Jane’s Addiction and hates college football. Here’s the reason you like her: because you’re not overthinking it, you’re letting things unfold and evolve and that person is being revealed to you over time.
