Ditch the pitch. This is the only advice you’ll get from the Me So Far team. Well that and, be open. But you get the idea – we want people to be themselves, not sell themselves. Nobody wants to watch that – ew. In this advertised society, we’re constantly getting pitched something. And the instinct isn’t to lean in, but to leave.

Thank you to everyone who attended Thursday’s Educated in Chicago event – we hope you had as much fun as we did! We learn something new at every event, but this one in particular was packed with interesting tidbits from our presenters and attendees.
For example, did you know barefoot running is a great way to pick up girls? Or that it just takes a little creativity to “ice” a friend living abroad? And who knew something as simple as your least favorite Chicago street intersection could spark an entire conversation?

You don’t have to be a hopeless romantic to want a good “How We Met” story. You could be stuck with it for 50+ years, after all. And while the stigma of online dating has seriously subsided, saying “I digitally winked at Grandpa” or “We both ranked political affiliation as ‘extremely important’” isn’t the story most people are excited to tell.

Some people know their answer right away. For others, this question triggers a mental parade of numbers with significance; and choosing just one is the hard part. And for some people, the answer to this question starts first with what has meaning in their life. People think about what they’re made up of, and then put a measure to that ingredient.
